They Call You a Hater When You Don't Fall in Line.
“What Is a Hater?” — A Quick Reality Check
A hater is apparently anyone who:
- Has their OWN mind.
- Doesn’t follow the hype
- Has taste, standards, and God forbid, an opinion.
- Isn’t brainwashed by hype.
- Sees the bigger picture and doesn’t bow down to the Opps.
Doesn't sound like a hater to me, but ok...
At this point, people use “hater” to shut down anything they don’t want to hear. It’s not even about being right anymore; it’s about refusing to be mature about the fact that people are allowed to think differently.
You mean to tell me someone says, “I’m not impressed,” and y’all fall out like it’s a personal attack?
You don’t address the point.
You don’t consider the perspective.
You just get triggered and go straight to “you’re a hater,” “you’re jealous,” and whatever else y’all recycle online and in person.
The way y’all scream “hater” over opinions... is absurd. It’s not that deep; they just don’t like whatever the matter is at the moment. Breathe. That's life. It's going to happen. Why does that have to be emphasized?
But let’s be real…
A lot of y’all who scream “hater” ARE haters. You’ve disliked stuff too. What makes your opinion gospel and everyone else’s hate?
You don’t like a million things.
You drag people all day long and proudly give YOUR opinion about it.
But the moment your fave or your take gets touched, suddenly the world’s supposed to shut up?
But those individuals can talk freely, right?
So, people are supposed to just stay silent while you run your mouth?
Please.
Make it make sense.
The second somebody speaks up, y’all get loud with no logic.
I’m just glad I know how to see the bigger picture.
Because I’m not about to slap the word “hater” or “jealous” on someone just because they disagree with me. That’s childish.
Actually, the more you’re on a journey of self-awareness and healing, the more you learn to just say, “Okay, whatever,” and move on. Because here’s the truth, people who don’t even know you can’t decide if you’re right or wrong. The same goes for those who do know you. People are going to be people. If you’re one of the rare ones mature enough to agree to disagree, then own that and live with it.
People want validation on tap. When you don’t serve it up, suddenly it’s a federal offense. But guess what? There’s no guilt to be charged with.
So, let’s be clear:
Some of us just aren’t easily impressed.
Some of us actually think critically.
Some of us have simply outgrown the need to treat personal belief as universal truth.
Therefore, the next time you disagree with something...
Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to call you a hater.
The next time you hear a song and don’t like it? Boom. You’re a hater.
Oh, you don’t like the letters of the alphabet. Wow. Big hater energy.
I like the color pink, and you don’t? Guess what? HATERRRRR! Because how dare you have a preference in this world and disagree with me?
People need a serious reality check.
There’s no reason why folks can’t just not like something without being called hateful for it. This shouldn’t even be a discussion.
Last time I checked, hate is for real things, injustice, harmful behavior, things that actually deserve that word.
Not liking a song, a movie, a hairstyle, or someone’s vibe doesn’t make someone a hater.
It means it didn’t move them. And that’s normal. Not even just normal, it’s human nature.
There are millions of people on this earth.
And somehow people really think no one’s going to have a different perspective?
Yes, some people hate on others because they have issues with themselves, but honestly, most of the time, the use of the word ‘hater’ is for something totally outside of the actual meaning.
This “hater” label is getting ridiculous.
It’s lazy.
It’s tired.
And it’s simple-minded.
There’s something deeper going on psychologically or culturally that makes folks react so defensively when their opinion is opposed. That's just my opinion.
Oops, let me not be a "hater" for giving my opinion. Haha!
But the more you grow, the more you realize not everything deserves a reaction. Not every opinion needs defending. I was taught to look at the source, sometimes it’s just not even worth it. And honestly? The peace that comes from letting people think what they want, because people are going to be who they are. What can we do about it? Nothing.
